Public classes

Maris takes you into her personal journey to deeply embrace your inner and outer strength.  Using the physical practice of yoga, Maris’s classes allow students to access the internal strength and power within themselves. Maris’s classes are empowering, loving, and push students to find their own unique edge whether that be physical, emotional, or otherwise. Maris challenges students to believe in themselves and embrace the playful imperfection that comes with the practice of yoga. In Maris’s classes, you can expect dynamic flows, intelligent sequencing, and a mindful balance of movement and stillness. You’ll leave feeling empowered, invigorated, and yet tranquil. Words students use to describe Maris’s teachings include inspiring, invigorating, energy shifting, transformative, and fearlessly authentic.

Public & Private Events

Maris is inspired by cultivating community through yoga, public speaking, workshops, retreats, and more. Maris also believes in the importance of celebration, and loves teaching at birthday parties and other group gatherings. She enjoys weaving in play, partner work, and meaningful conversation into her teachings.

Maris is experienced in teaching groups of all sizes (from 2 people to over 400 people), ages, experience levels, and abilities. She continues her education and personal study of yoga every day, and brings what she’s learned to every event with an open heart and open mind.

Public Speaking

Her parents will be the first to tell you: Maris has a lot to say and seemingly hasn’t stopped talking for very long since she learned how. She’s eager to step into your yoga studio, workplace, place of worship, school, or other community setting to share what she’s learned thus far in life.

An experienced speaker in front of audiences of all sizes, ages, and diversities, Maris has been honored to speak in a variety of settings. She delivered the KeyNote address at UC Irvine’s 2018 Mental Health Conference, sat on a Q&A at Mill Valley’s 2018 Film Festival, and spoke at the 2019 lululemon athletica Leadership Summit.

Maris is passionate about speaking on the topics of mental health, yoga, social justice, and the I Am Maris movie.

Maris teaches at Just Be Yoga Walnut Creek & Danville and the University of California, Santa Cruz on a seasonal basis. For more information about signing up for classes, pricing, and more, please see below:
